Ross University Alumna Dr. Jessica August Helps Lead COVID-19 Efforts In Her Community
Ross University School of Medicine alumna Dr. Jessica August is an essential part of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Santa Rosa, California.
Along with Dr. Shu Yang, Dr. August is serving as a key resource in fighting the disease at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center. August and Yang are crucial to halting the disease’s progression at Kaiser, as they are the only two infectious disease specialists on the 400-physician staff.
In a recent feature in The Press Democrat, Dr. August was asked why she chose infectious diseases as a specialty. She answered, “You see whatever is causing the disease very nicely in the lab. It’s a nice connection between science and people.” Read the full story here.
