Get Involved, Make a Difference
Here is just a sampling of ways that you can help support efforts on the front lines and behind the scenes. No matter how you contribute—from volunteering to perform wellness checks to donating food and supplies—every bit of help counts toward fighting this global pandemic together.
Let’s work together to show care for our caregivers!

“We launched our ‘Adopt a Grandparent’ campaign to bring a sense of comfort to young people and the elderly who may not have grandparents/grandchildren of their own, with the aim of creating long-lasting intergenerational friendships.
All you need to do is fill in the form below and one of our team will be in touch to pair you with your new ‘Grandma’ or ‘Grandpa’.
After that, these are some of the ways in which you can help:
Having phone calls/video calls with your new friend
Sending cheerful pictures/stories/poems (post or email) for them to enjoy
Sharing stories from different generations
Sending letters/postcards to your new friend, much like a penpal!”
You can provide a safe and convenient place to stay for COVID-19 responders working with our partner organizations. You can choose to offer your place for free, but if you can’t, we’re currently waiving all Airbnb fees.

AUC and RUSM students are helping healthcare providers who need help managing their household while serving at the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.*
COVIDSitters was first created by medical students in Minnesota and implemented in various other states to support any healthcare worker that requires assistance including, but not limited to; doctors, nurses, PA/NP’s, techs, cafeteria workers, cleaning crews, people creating medical equipment, etc. Assistance can include childcare, pet care, and errands (pharmacy pick up, grocery shopping).
Some Medical School students are using this as a way to give back to their fellow healthcare providers who might be struggling to adapt to the current circumstances, especially while clinical rotations are suspended for the foreseeable future.
If you have an interest in volunteering or helping with the project, please reach out to:

*This information is provided to make you aware of a volunteer opportunity. The project is not sponsored by Adtalem or any of its institutions. As such, we have not screened the healthcare providers who are seeking assistance or vetted the safety or security of their homes or the tasks they are seeking assistance with. All participants in the program are doing so as volunteers only. We recommend students and participants carefully review any service they are asked to perform in this program and keep their personal health and safety as a priority.
